It’s time once again for this year’s Poetry Sunday. On this day most of our service will be devoted to anyone who wants to share either their own poetry or their favorite poems. If you enjoy writing or reading poetry then Poetry Sunday is for you. Our audience is always polite and accepting. Here’s how it works. Bring a poem or two to read to the congregation. We always get to hear some really wonderful poems from both known authors and yes, poetry from our readers. It can be a poem that you wrote or perhaps it could be a pick from your favorite poems. There are very few rules.
They are:
- Please, limit your readings to 3-5 minutes. There will be additional time for second and third readings after everyone else has had a chance to read.
- Remember to follow basic rules of taste.
- Please wait for everyone to get a chance to read before you have a second reading.
- You don’t have to be a CVUU member to read. As always, all newcomers and visitors are welcome and encouraged to participate.
